The 2000 Oschersleben I Race 2, otherwise known as the ADAC-Preis von Sachsen-Anhalt 2000 Race 2, was the fourth race of the 2000 DMSB Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters Championship, staged at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in Oschersleben, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, on 18 June 2000.[1] The race would see Manuel Reuter collect his second straight victory from pole position, also collecting fastest lap as he moved level with Bernd Schneider at the head of the hunt.[2]
Background[]
Bernd Schneider would retain the lead in the Championship after the third round of the campaign, and had established a fair twenty point lead at the head of the hunt. Manuel Reuter, the only other winner of the campaign, would head into the second race of the weekend on 32 points in second, while Marcel Fässler had dropped to third, level with Reuter in terms of points. Timo Scheider was next up ahead of Joachim Winkelhock, while Pedro Lamy had become the season's fourteenth scorer.
In the Teams' Championship it was D2 AMG Mercedes who continued to head the field, entering the second Oschersleben race with 62 points. Opel Team Phoenix were next up in second after their maiden victory, fifteen behind, while their sister squad Opel Team Holzer II were a further five back. Warsteiner AMG Mercedes were next up ahead of Original Teile AMG-Mercedes, with eight teams having scored in the opening three rounds.

Milestones[]
- Second victory for Manuel Reuter.
- Second win for Phoenix Racing as an entrant.
- Opel secured their second win as a manufacturer.
- Maiden points finish for Uwe Alzen.
Standings[]
It was a dead heat atop the Championship as the second race weekend of the DTM came to a close, with Bernd Schneider and Manuel Reuter level on 52 points, with two wins apiece. Indeed, Schneider was only considered to be ahead on countback due to having a twelfth place finish as opposed to a thirteenth place finish for Reuter, while Marcel Fässler was third on 44. Joachim Winkelhock and Timo Scheider completed the top five, while Uwe Alzen had added his name to the scorers' list.
In the Teams' Championship it was still D2 AMG-Mercedes who held the initiative after four races, although their advantage had been reduced to five points. Opel Team Phoenix were their closest challengers in second, while Warsteiner AMG-Mercedes had moved back up to third on 51 points, 21 behind their sister squad. The two Opel Team Holzer squads were next up to complete the top five, with no further names added to the scoresheet.
